FS VERSION |
FS2000/FS2002/FS2004 |
Overview
FS Flight Keeper (FSFK) combines six programs in one: A Logbook, a basic
Aircraft Black Box, a Flight Weather planning tool,
a Flight Information System (ACARS Device), a
Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) and a Cockpit Sound
Environment enhancement. The Logbook keeps track of the flights you
made. It stores Flight Times (also Day and Night), Fuel used, Pilot,
Aircraft used, etc. Whilst the Black Box logs all aircraft events like
autopilot settings, engine settings, weather, etc. FSFK also features flight
weather planning (METARs, TAFs and ALOFTs), data export, configurable flight
critique, World (Moving) Map display, Instant Messaging, Screenshot Manager
and much more.
FS Flight Keeper contains many features for Virtual Airlines
(VA), which need a standardized way of logging, transmitting flights and
even want to upload actual flight reporting maps. FS Flight Keeper can
transmit fully customizable flight reports via Email or any available Web
Service (page). FSFK also offers realtime (live) ACARS. This means that
ACARS messages are created in realtime and automatically transmitted to an
existing Virtual Airline Web Service. The service can then store and process
the received messages. Virtual Airline (live ACARS) Traffic can displayed on
the World Map. With the existing Virtual Airline Software Development Kit
(SDK) and the contained example services and databases any VA can develop
FSFK compatible web service in a really short time.
The Cockpit Sound Environment brings your Cockpit to
life. Easily add crew announcements, which will be played automatically on
different flight situations (e.g. Pushback, Pax Security Information, Crew
prepare for Landing, etc.). You can also add a virtual copilot, that gives
you aural information for different aircraft status changes (e.g. Gear down
and locked, Glideslope active/captured, etc.). Cabin ambient sounds with
full 3-D surround sound support will give you the feeling as if the
passengers were really in your aircraft. But sounds can not only be played
automatically, you can also play pre configured sounds manually by pressing
a configurable hotkey. You can add an aural GPWS/TCAS, which can be used for
every aircraft even if it does not have one installed by default.
Last but not least you can access all this information directly from your
cockpit without the need to switch any application during your flight. The
ACARS Device (Gauge) allows the pilot to easily view all
important information and even control FS Flight Keeper while sitting in the
cockpit. The ACARS Device offers a detailed text based view on the current
weather conditions (e.g. wind and cloud layers with icing, turbulence and
wind shear warnings!), gives access to all important in-flight states and
also contains a detailed airport and navaid information database. If
professionals use it, shouldn't you (click
here to start your download)?
Try Before You Buy
FSFK is a power tool for power users. But it is not overly complex and the
clear and standardized interface (based on the latest Microsoft
developments) make all functions easy to reach and understand. However,
getting to know FSFK takes a while and that is why it is a fully functional
Try Before You Buy version. Limited only in number of databases and amount
of flights that can be logged, you can use the product and decide if this is
something for you, your flying group or your Virtual Airline. To TRY
FS Flight Keeper follow this procedure:
- Download the full version of the file (click
here to download);
- Navigate to the
Trial Key Page, enter your name and email address;
- You will be send a Trial Key by email;
- Install the product and enter the Trial Key, FSFK is now operational;
- You will be able to register the Trial version to a Registered without
any new download and without loosing your stored data.
There is no reason not to try FSFK, the installer is absolutely State of the
Art (even carries the 'Designed for Windows XP' logo) and removing the
product is as easy as installing it. We will fully support the trial version
on the forums
Logbooks, pilots and Flight Critique
Of course this is the core of the product. Flight Keeper 2.50 is build to
log your flights and all events in that flight. You can add an unlimited
number of pilots, airliners and flights and editing them is totally simple.
Adding a new flight is as easy as can be, in fact it will take less time
than adding a flight to a paper log book. And it will hold immeasurably more
information. A lot of information will be automatically loaded (like your
aircraft, location etc). During the flight the logbook will be automatically
updated with events, weather etc. Any event that is logged comes in via
FSUIPC (there is no need to have a registered version as we made sure we got
the rights to use the functions we need). All flights are broken into
sections, like landings, taxi and cruise. Logging a flight is totally
automatic. No manual intervention needed.
The Flight Editor will load FS flight plans and even will import the most
used flight plan formats (like FSNavigator). After it has been imported
getting the real weather for all navigation points on your route takes only
one click and it will even decode the rather complex METAR, TAF and ALOFT
information into readable text. On the world map we'll even use small cloud
icons to show weather. Spread over the many windows you will find incredible
detail on your flight. From take-off speed to weather over any point in your
flight. It's all here, easy to find and understand. Let's give one example,
say you flown a year ago in Flight Keeper will be able to tell you what the
surface of the runway was.
At the end of the flight you can ask Flight Keeper to judge your flight.
Using the massive data collection for each flight it will churn out a report
on your flight. From max G force to taxi speed and excessive pitch and bank,
all will be used to create a score. Of course ALL settings are editable in
configuration files. If your VA or personal preferences require additional
information you can add those to a fully configurable custom section.
ACARS Device
You can access all this information directly from your cockpit without the
need to switch any application during your flight. The ACARS Device Gauge
([A]ircraft [C]ommunication [A]ddressing and [R]eporting [S]ystem) allows
the pilot to easily view all important information and even control FS
Flight Keeper while sitting in the cockpit. The ACARS Device offers a
detailed text based view on the current weather conditions (e.g. wind and
cloud layers with icing and turbulence warnings!), gives access to all
important in-flight states and also contains a detailed airport information
database. Of course in a high end product like this the gauge will be
installed in your aircrafts using a very easy to use tool. When you remove
the product we'll even remove it from the aircraft!
The gauge has a simple but effective interface (based on a simplified FMS
system) that makes it easy to get to all information. For example if you
need to know the weather at your next waypoint it only takes a few clicks to
get that information. The gauge can connect to Flight Keeper (running
minimized) to display information stored in the databases of Flight Keeper.
World Map
One of the most important tools when you plan you flight. You can display
your planned route and overlay it with the weather. You can even select the
altitude you want to see the winds for, making it very easy to select the
most profitable flight level. It will show weather, temperature and wind for
each airport. Of course it will let you search for airports and will display
a beautiful map using full antialiasing as is supported in Windows.
While you fly you are able to use the map as a Moving map and follow your
route, and will even see the AI aircraft and Multiplayer traffic, aircraft
that get close in different color to warn you. You will also be able to
compare your flown route to your planned route. Of course events logged by
the recorder will be shown graphically on the map. Pointing to a point on
the map will open a window showing more details of the location, traffic or
event. When you zoom into an airport you will be able to see your trace over
the taxiways and see the gate assignments.
Sounds
New in FSFK 2.5 is the option to add sound effects to all events. These
sounds can be played in DirectX 5.1 stereo(!!) that allows you to position
the sound to come from any direction. For example the Ground Proximity
sounds from the cabin speaker in front and above you, your copilot sounds
from the right side and the cabin announcements from the rear. FSFK now also
contains a complete Ground Proximity Warning System. At the bottom of this
page you will find link to the sound file available (if you like to create
your sound sets (and get a free product from our shop as token of our
appreciation), contact info@aerosoft-shop.com). There is a demo file in MP3
format available click
here.
Screenshots and messaging
The Screenshot Manager is a simple, but very helpful tool, that let's you
take screenshots of the active window. You can take as many shots as you
want (just limited by the amount of disk space available) and you can save
the ones you like after you have finished the flight. So no stress during
your flight, no need to switch to any other program while you fly. The only
thing you need to do is to configure the Take Screenshot hotkey in the
Options dialog and press it while you fly. FS Flight Keeper will take the
shot and will store it in an internal gallery.
You are a user of one of the ever more popular chat tools? Or you fly online
and hate to use the chat module build into FS? Then you will just love the
messaging module. Fully build for use with FS it is almost as powerful as
the regular messaging tools, it allows you to send messages, files, any
screenshot you recorded, email and even SMS messages. You can set your
status (busy, online etc).
Interface, frame rates, programming and manuals
FSFK is programmed by professionals and it is obvious from the way the
product looks and how you interface with it. Designed to look like the
Outlook layout it gives you great control over all functions. The
professionalism also shows in other aspects, like the integrated bug
reporting, automated update functions, backup functionality (believe us, you
DO not want to loose your files) and the almost unlimited ways in which the
product can be configured by the user. And supported by Aerosoft you can be
sure it will work, when you need something we like as well you can be sure
it will be implemented very swiftly. New in version 2.70 is full interface
in German language.
Even with all the amount of information you will probably not notice FSFK
running in the background. With the map running on a separate window with
all AI traffic showing and FULL logging the only way you will notice FSFK
running is the hard disk light (of course we write all events in real time
to the database).
Virtual Airlines
FSFK is incredibly useful for Virtual Airlines and in the new 2.70 version a
lot of comments from VA's that already use the product has been
incorporated. We will support your airline in creating web services for
uploading PIREPs and building live ACARS systems. We also offer sample
source code (FREE OF CHARGE!) written in ASP, that will help you to easily
create the necessary code. If you want to implement FSFK to your existing
web services then download the new SDK .
For VA's that consider using FSFK we can offer a discount on the sales
price.
